Dave Kempton is a multi disciplined musician originally from New Zealand. Current roles include production, music directing, performing, composing/arranging, and education.

Classically trained at Victoria University of Wellington (Bmus, Performance and Composition), Dave has freelanced as a Trumpet player with Orchestras throughout New Zealand and was a member of the Central band of the Royal NZ Airforce.

A move to further his guitar studies led him to the NZ School of Music studying Jazz before taking a performance contracts in Dubai, UAE, and in Sydney Australia with a state government service band. He currently resides in Sydney and freelances in performance, production and education.

As a Musical Director/Guitarist, he has worked with Nardean, ANGE, Emalia, and a corporate events 10 piece ‘Tequila Mockingbird’. He has also performed with Natalie Imbruglia, Lady King, Pace Randolph, Tate Sheridan and has toured Australia with musical theatre productions ‘Hair’ (2019) and ‘Eireborne’ (2022). His playing features on recordings by Lara Andallo, Nardean, Jess B, ASM Keeno and Anna Dot.

Dave has produced an EP for Sydney artist Anna Dot, and two children’s records for the Australian Broadcasting corporation; ‘Jessie and Basil’ (Volume 1 and Volume 2).
